A standardised form is logical but the single most important criterion is
for an application to be unambiguous. If there are only two trees in the
front garden and you only want consent to fell the eucalyptus and leave the
acacia alone, I can't see that an accurately scaled plan would assist the
application process if the applicant were unable to provide one easily. A
simple sketch would suffice.
Where an application is made professionally and there are a great many trees
then an accurate plan is very useful.
However, the question is begged: if the TPO plan in the First Schedule is
accurate enough for legal purposes, then to what extent does the position of
a tree have to be accurate (aside from construction ambitions that is) for
an application?
If the application perfectly clear I would hope that TOs are reasonable.
Anyway, looks like I'm going to have to go to work!

compulsory one, so I don't s'pose it will be until the Blue Book is
reviewed.
However, I don't dislike the new form and I can't see that it so far makes
any more demands on Joe and Joanna so in all no real objection. Admittedly I
dunno what it's like from your side.
So far I'm not gonna get vexed about it.
