Both Arch View and Map Info have internal programs to convert DXF files to
either shape or table files respectively so as long as the co ordinates are
there its not a problem, although we use auto cad here.

Dear All,
Like a number of other consultants, where necessary, I draw RPAs as
polygons, it can be a long drawn out process but it can be done with Autocad.
I would also be willing to send Autocad plans to the LPA so that they could
check the areas of the RPAs using Autocad or other drawing programme. I
suspect if I sent it as a DXF you would be able to get your IT people to load
it onto your GIS system.

I must admit though that I have a case at the moment where the shape of the
RPA of a few trees should be altered but as it is without doing that the RPAs
encroach across the footprint of the proposed building, a large wooden shed
on pad and beam foundations. Correcting the RPAs in this case will not alter
the AIA or method statement.

    Regards
