The latter Peter refers to a scheme TS have started which was discussed a
while back, called "Buy with confidence". The scheme covers firms that have
paid the fee and satisfied a range of criteria to do with business probity.
There is no consideration of the quality of work.

I corresponded with Trading Standards and told them about the AAAC. As it
happens it was Hampshire TS that started the thing.

Quoting Peter Thurman <thurmanconsult@xxxxxxxxxxx.com>:
Today, I have come across some advertising literature from a tree work
company (that I have absolutely no knowledge of) who describe themselves
as:

"NPTC Approved" and "Trading Standards Approved"
Can anyone tell me what this means/involves?
