RE: 1App and tree work applications

We are now experiencing a much higher rate of householder calls seeking
help to fill out the forms. My team and the reception staff have also
taken calls from punters simply wanting to shout abuse at us as a result
of what is perceived to be a needlessly wasteful and cumbersome 1App
form. And the sad thing is I am inclined to agree with them.

Something has gone badly wrong here. Great concept - terrible product.

Posting prompted by just having listened to two more voice mail messages
on this subject. Are other LPA arbs also taking flak for this?

Which I've pointed out to planning. They in turn have pointed out that

we can't stop people using the Planning Portal though. The only
solution to that is to somehow persuade the Planning Portal to update
their dreadful form. The sensible approach, it would seem to me, would

be for them to withdraw it until the consultation results are out and
it can be reissued in line with those results. Of course, I may be
being niave in expecting that a consultation exercise will lead to an
improvement. The five yearly consultation on who should be the
government never seems to.

Working at this from the other end and submitting tree work apps through

the planning portal has recently become ridiculously cimbersome and
unreliable.

I have gone back to submitting them on the old paper forms.
