Nice pictures Paul,
I thought lightening discharged from the ground upwards, which explains why I
often see "partial" discharge scars, as the charge jumps from one place to
another ?
I remember a very good series of photos in the National Geographic mag, years
ago now, showing sort of time-lapse photos of a big broadleaf in USA being
struck, with the "bolt" shown running from ground, up the tree to discharge
from the upper canopy.
Scary if you happen to be nearby, or even in the tree.......;-)
