For those of you who remember the media coverage of the draft BS 8516 the
other week, and how it was lambasted by journalists, presenters, and
stakeholders alike.  You may be interested to know the timely spanner in the
works was thrown by the Risk and Regulation Advisory Council (RRAC).  For
those of you who don't know what they do, they advise the government on
matters of public risk.  There's more detail on their website.

Given the RRAC's status, purpose, and take on how the draft BS handles the
issue of Tree Risk, I thought UKTC subscribers might be interested in
