I have been carrying out a survey today and there was a beech tree with
severe die back in the crown and what I have identified as (Spindle
Shank Collybia fusipes) nearby on the ground. I have looked it up in
Lonsdale and in Strouts. Here it states that it causes root decay and
die back but is not known to cause dangerous decay. Can anyone give me
more advice on this?
