will withdraw the carbon you emit during the lifetime of the tree, not in
the short term. This would only have an impact if short rotation high

rotations). 

With short rotation you need to think about what happens to the tree
afterwards. If you burn it, all that CO₂ just goes straight back into
the atmosphere. That's not all bad. Ongoing short rotation used as fuel
means at least that what you're releasing as you burn is being absorbed
as the replacement grows. The potential for wood from sustainable
sources to be used as a near carbon neutral fuel is probably one of the
more convincing advantages of trees in terms of climate change mitigation.

I liken offsetting to a new financial program I am developing.
