<<I have found what can only be meripilus on at beech at 30ft. Is this a
record?>>

Hi Paul

Nah, Beech grow much taller than 30ft.

However, given the locus from which the fruiting body commonly appears this
would be noteworthy. On a scale from 'the earth is flat', to 'of course
Darwin was right, and the notion of an omnipresent and omnipotent god is
therefore preposterous', how confident are you that you're looking at
Meripilus giganteum rather than say Pleurotus spp.?

Cheers
