Proposed Olympic site - Greenwich Park

I see in the letters section of today's Telegraph that someone has picked up 
on a rumour about Greenwich Park in the 2012 olympics.
 
They suggest that the Olympic authorities will be having a lot of the trees 
removed to make way for an equestrian olympic venue there.
 
Anyone out there know if there is any truth to this?
