Hello
While walking to my truck this morning I spotted this lovely FB of
Meripilus - fruiting from the join between the road and a stone wall...
I assumed that it had been detached from the base of the tree and thrown
in the gutter, but it was actually in situ. As you'll see from the
second picture (to follow) it's on the roots of a big copper beech which
has several FB's around the base of the stem - you can see another to
the left of the gatepost. This one is to the right of the gatepost at
ground level.
