Paul,

In the interests of balance.....I assume you've also read Mike Ellison's
comments on Goode v City of Burnside?

If not, you can download his paper 'What is Tree Failure Risk
Assessment? (a short paper presented at TreeNet 2007) from the
'downloads' section of the QTRA website (link below)

Richard

I found this judgement of great interest having been through training
for many, many evaluation systems over the last 30 years. I was
intrigued to find two referenced in the case of Goode v City of
Burnside [Australia 2007]. My interest in this is that the court
considered comparison not just between two experts, but in this
instance, named evaluation systems. The Judge's comments were most
illuminating and I would draw your attention especially to pages 7, 8
and 9.

In light of the recent and ongoing debate on the Poll case, I consider
that perhaps others might find it interesting and help to further
discussion within the profession.

Regards

Paul
