Indeed the East Kent Bus Co, used an open top bus to clear their routes
until the late 80's when with bus deregulation they handed over the problem
to the Local Highway Authority and became the bane of my life. I don't
recall that it was spectacularly modified though and was basically just a
mobile elevated cutting platform (usually 2 guys up top with chainsaws)
that just happened to work at the right height for them - strange that. No
clever mods though, just simple and effective for the rather basic
operations they carried out .
