There's any amount of stuff on the net about horse extraction in the UK,
much of it economic comparisons with motorised extraction. And didn't
the Parnham Trust do work on use of small roundwood to existing
construction material standards?

I recall that Coillte used a lot of small roundwood in their new HQ a
while back and of course theres people like Ben Law etc. I'm not aware
of the Parnham work and will look it up. Thanks as ever.

We tend to see Horses being used for relatively small loads these days
though and it intrests me that in the past we have used them (or teams
of them)to bring out gurt lumps. No need right now but it seems like
there may be again in our lifetimes.
