"Your not joking there Bill they have doubled the price of firewood at

I can't get cheap fuel wood down here anymore - in fact, if you buy bags of
logs, you will now find that they are more expensive than gas! My Council are
grant aiding the supply and fit of wood burning stoves for the second year
running and this, in my view, is partially responsible for the situation
where even timber reclamation yards are cutting salvaged timber for firewood
instead of using it for building material!!

I understand that sales of woodburning stoves are currently one of the
few economic growth areas, so I can't see the redundant logs at
ride-side remaining there for too long. So bang go your (and mine as
well) hopes of picking up a cheap forwarder as well..... I guess there
is a degree of snobbery(?) in not wanting to be seen as a firewood man
instead of a timber man?

Bill.
