RE: Urban Forester [Scanned]

My sense is that this is a term with a strong and current stateside tradition
that enjoyed some vogue in the UK, and even had its own national unit, a
deceased quango. Does not seem to have become embedded here though.. OK you
can argue for the urban forest, but you are still an ecologist, landscape
architect, forester or arboriculturist in your own right.

Do people have any thoughts on the use of this job description
(specifically for a local authority planning arboriculturist)?

From a preliminary search through the uktc threads it's a conundrum
which doesn't appear to be a recent concern.
