Maggie,
Have you got Principles of Tree Hazard Assessment and Management by David
Lonsdale. He covers it nicely in his glossary. 

No idea of the copyright implications of copying it directly.

I'm adding a definition in a glossary for VTA (intended recipients won't
have a clue what it is else).



I'm tying my brain up in knots with the definition - any ideas for a
goodie?



Has to be short and sweet (hence the need for collective brain advice as
I'm probably taking up too much time on one definition).

So far - only have 'systematic approach to tree diagnosis....' Obviously
not good enough. Should have done this last yr as part of TC - but brain
has obviously gone soggy since, sorry.
