Clive
I have been using Pear software for
about five years and find it works very
well. There are sometimes issues with
handheld GPS device but that is down to
the devices not software and they are
constantly improving.

You can create your own data collection
form to suit your own requirements.
Working with OS maps easily downloaded
onto plan plotting all trees and with
BS5837 plots RPA and shade just leaving
you to make final adjustments.

How well the system works within a
council data system I have no
experience.

The staff at Pear are very helpful and
can sort problems out quickly even if
they are self inflicted.

Contact me off line if you want more
information.

Subject: Tree Management Software

Hi all,

A contact of mine is looking for some
tree management software - with the
usual inventory, inspection and works
record elements. He's responsible for a
large number of trees, spread over a
number of sites.

He's looking at Pear software at the
moment. It's a bit out of my area of
expertise and I was wondering if any of
you had: a) Thoughts about the available
software packages in general, or b)
About Pear in particular?

Any answers too sensitive for general
consumption can be sent to me off
forum.....
