RE: Online TPO

Bill. It's a well known fact that Tree Officers are infallible. As for how
anything appears on line, it seems like a miracle to me.

Seriously though it would depend on the quality of scanning. Which can be
very variable. I got a copy of the 1969 TPO Regs from the British Library.
Truly dreadful scanning. It had a covering sheet which said this was the best
copy available. Really? I made it better myself.

I would always get the TPO's themselves and the maps sealed. Cuts out the
chance of arguments later as to whether or not they are the genuine article.

As for on line TPO's, I think it is a good idea, and is something I'd like to
do.

Would you care to clarify that observation Paul? I'm inclined to think
Robert's concerns about "risks of fells" are misguided although I see his
point: I'm a firm believer in openness. If I were a TO (I'm not and never
have been) I'd be mainly concerned about my embarassing mistakes being made
visible to the world.

I'm also curious as to how some of these 1955 TPOs written on parchment with
a quill pen, then sealed with wax are likely to appear online although I
can't be ar53d to look for any at the moment.

Anyway precisely how the statement reveals "everything that is wrong" is not
at all clear to me.

Bill.
