SC All in all it might be unreasonable to read it as requiring removal or
prompt removal of all dead trees as good practice. It seems reasonable to
read
it as suggesting that there needs to be a well supported rationale to retain
certain dead trees in certain circumstances... a better reason than crtiiter
habitat is nice.

Any thoughts as to why Hardwoods might degrade faster than Conifers Scott?
assuming Hardwoods means broadleaves, and Conifers means softwoods, as in UK
forestry. This observation seems counterintuitive.

Bill.
