It was a week end warrior scenario and a pincer movement between TPO,
Enforcement and Great Crested Newts did the job.FC were powerless of course.
New sympathetic owner came along.:)

Quite a few military vehicles found their way from disposal auctions into the
woods in past years, and were adapted to forestry tasks, but I guess this
scenario was an enthusiast rather than someone genuinely engaged in woodland
management. Even so I wonder whether the more damaging aspect of it was on
the herb layer, which of course the TPO cannot defend.

Only if there is a demonstrable need. We recently TPO'ed a 30 acre ancient
woodland because the owner was using and housing a tank as a forestry tool
under pd.
