Chicken would have long since fallen off, new ones are now out and about
having their first spring outing, Algea on top side, suggest something more
robust than old chickenss.
Does however appear to be annual, maybe its our old friend aurantiporus, hard
to say

Hi Rupert

I started off with Oxyporous but the descriptions and size did not fit,
after Chris suggestion about Chicken I am favouring that now, just unusual
on Poplar. The FB was about 150mm across and 2m from the ground on a 400mm
diameter stem.

thanks to all who replied

It has the look of Oxyporus, but Phillips says the brackets are only 3-6cm
across; what scale is the photo/how big was the fruit-body?

Hi

This FB is on a White Poplar about 2m up, any thoughts would be appreciated,
doesn't appear to fit exactly any of the usual suspects Perenniporia or
Phellinus,

Thanks

Andy
