So my reference to George Orwell wasn't so far off the mark then!

I've never understood the requirement to keep revoked and lapsed Orders they
would just lead to confusion. Better to destroy them and then there is no
doubt. If the originals don't exist then no enforcement can take place

"My question is are we legally required to keep the original copy of the
TPOs. Would we be able to prosecute without it? "

We're doing the same this end and going paperless. The TPO and evidence of
it's confirmation is a legal document and should be kept indefinitely and I
would suggest that both the TPO and evidence of it's confirmation are kept
together. A copy is not the TPO is just that...a copy!! We keep our
originals in a safe. I would also argue that the documents for a revoked and
lapsed TPOs should also be kept indefinitely too.

Morning All,

We are currently finishing off the process of going paperless in our
offices. We have scanned all of our TPO's and have them all available on a
digital system etc.

My question is are we legally required to keep the original copy of the
TPOs. Would we be able to prosecute without it?

Any info from anyone who is going through, or has gone through, the same
process would be appreciated.

Thanks

James
