Thanks for the replys , I think it is an Austrian Pine - it has been badly 
pruned in the past and doesn't have any of he usual chacteristics except 2 
needles. It almost looks like exhaust burns from a dustbin lorry or similar 
but there are symptoms on the opposite side, most of the crown is healthy so 
I don't think it is red band needle blight and no obvious bark or root 
disfunction.
