Well this is what I had always thought Ron, but where does it say you must
keep a hard copy?

Hi Alastair,

You must keep the the original paper Order which is usually hived away by the
legal team with all the terrier land packs. Otherwise, there is no
requirement to keep an additional hard office 'copy', only to keep a register
and make provision so a copy of the TPO can be inspected on request at all
reasonable times. So, for that purpose we only have electronic copies which
can be looked at and printed off at any time as required.

"(3) A copy of the order shall be made available for inspection, free of
charge, at all reasonable hours, at the offices of the authority by whom the
order was made; and where an order is made on behalf of an authority, it
shall be made available for inspection also at the offices of the authority
on whose behalf it was made."

I know this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find it in the archive.

In search of more space that we can rent out to others, the question is being
asked whether we need to actually keep hard copies of our TPOs and TPO files,
or whether they can be just kept digitally. Our TPOs are sealed, but I know
there is no requirement in the legislation to do so.
Does this make a difference to whether they need to be kept?

Cheers

Alastair
