I can report that I, and most importantly the shiny award, are safe and well.
Unlike those unfortunate enough to be flooded out again. Unlike Julian in
Scotland, where the weather would appear balmy by Cumbrian standards, I no
longer have an office. But then again neither does anyone else in the city
council. The last time we were flooded out it took several months to get back
in. Hopefully this time past experience will help with getting things sorted
quickly. Ironic isn't it that it took the council until a couple of months
ago to put up a plaque at the civic centre showing the height the 2005 floods
and commemorating the victims and emergency services. They'll need another
one now a few feet above it.

Weather up here is ghastly but I'm used to it. Susn shone briefly yesterday.
I have an office day today (phew) but 2 days very exposed dismantling
tomorrow and Wednesday. More logs for the stove. [weakly] Hurrah!

Good evening,
Can we take it Julian, as you're posting stuff on UKTC that the foul
weather the news would have us believe is causing chaos up your
neck-of-the-woods, isn't?
And if Charles Bennett's anywhere near the internet perhaps he could let us
know that his shiny new award hasn't floated away? And him with it...
Bill.
