Looks like a Polyporus squamosus to me , though spring to early autumn is the 
preferred time to emerge.

On a tear-out on ane of these elms - whicgh are notorious for poor form,
compression forks, and shedding limbs. Bracket is fairly thin - 15mm or so,
big - 20cm+ across -  and doesn't look right for Dryad's saddle or sulphur
tuft.  I'm probably missing something blindingly obvious, but .. any ideas??
