It's hard enough trying to create a space for planting for just one tree 
never mind three in the urban environment. Some highway planning teams tend 
to forget the practicalities of this and run away with their carefully drawn 
plans depicting a beautifully lined shopping street with trees, only to be 
told that this isn't possible. Then you get the planting in tubs 
suggestion.... ahhrrgh.

We have a 2:1 replacement policy for council trees and it can be quite a 
struggle. Bristol I heard have 6:1 but seems to be quite a dynamic town in a 
number of ways.
