Thanks David. I wasn’t aware that guttation was a feature of so many fungal 
species. Thanks also for the heads-up on the current name of Pseudoinonotus 
dryadeus. I checked with speciesfungorum.org and wonder how that has passed 
me by for so long (and pretty much every arb I have spoken to).  
Interestingly, when looking up Inonotus dryadeus in Schwarze’s ‘Fungal 
Strategies of Wood Decay in Trees’, the index notes it as Dryad’s Saddle!
