Moling and air spading

Subject: Moling and air spading

A drain is to be run to connect to the main in the street, thought to be 3m
deep, and passing between boundary trees 3m apart. The options are (i)
reduce or fell the trees, (ii) impact moling, or (iii) air spading then
digging the trench as it were from the side, ie. below the roof of roots
near ground level.

Has anyone ever done (iii)? Is it feasible?
