Someone with more knowledge/experience may correct me but 4 main ones I
referred to are;

Helliwell; A method of calculating the amenity value of tree(s) or woodlands
CTLA: I am sure you are aware of this as it is the US system used in the UK
for some disputes/court cases. It is the calculated replacement cost based
on the cross sectional area.
CAVAT: Based on the same cross sectional area calculation and it is
primarily used for building damage/subsidence cases, although it is used
for other scenarios where trees are threatened.
iTree: The new approach, calculating the economic value of some of the
environmental benefits that tees afford us. Several local authorities have
undertaken this approach, and it is becoming more popular.

What other systems are there in the US currently.

Sincerely Tom

There are plenty of others (most arborists, I believe) who are quite
willing to place enormous estimates of value on trees for insurance and in
court cases. What basis of valuation do those in the UK use to make such
determinations?

My own personal view is that it is one of a limited number (4 I believe)
of
valuation systems that we have.

We should use them more, being open about their limitations.

If we don't value trees, other people such as politicians, accountants,
managers, budget holders will value them as zero.

Better systems will come along in the future.

There are those in the US who consider assigning replacement values to

Dear Collective,

Have any of you any experience using this software.

It projects the lifetime benefit and associated monetary value of
newly
planted trees. Unfortunately it only seems useable in the US and
Canada.

However it would be an excellent tool for education purposes.

Cheers,

Leigh
