In January the government published their 25 year plan for the environment
which included this bit:

iii. Appointing a national Tree Champion
We will appoint a national Tree Champion to promote the unique blend of
social, economic and environmental benefits offered by trees and forests and
make sure that the right trees, in terms of biosecurity, value for money, air
quality impact and biodiversity among other criteria, are planted in the
right places, in line with the UK Forestry Standard.
By bringing together key players across national and local government and the
sector, the Tree Champion will help to drive a step change in tree planting.

Has anything more been heard of the tree champion?
