Probably mildew. Several species of Microsphaera, Podosphaera, Sawadaca and
Phyllactinia reported on Prunus, Platanus, Quercos, Corylus, Crataegus, Acer
and Malus, according to Strouts (1994). Willow also susceptible, as are
several shrub species (e.g. Mahonia,Euonymous).

A colleague has asked me what the white powdery substance on the leaves is.
My first thought was mildew. Has anyone any other thoughts.
