At the field day event last year Claus was using a leather punch to remove
the bark over the BBR to identify weak attachments in forks.

However, if giving it a try, lets follow the FC guidance and "keep it
clean" by disinfecting the tool after each use. We use alcohol (available
in spray bottles from Sorbus and other suppliers). Also be aware of the
hazards of using 99% alcohol - it says on the bottle " may cause
drowsiness" 😊
