Bill,
I agree but is anything user friendly these days? I find if you ring up
the boffins at forest research at either Alice Holt or North they're more
than happy to talk and point you in the right direction although it wont be
long before you will only be able to talk to someone who wants your card
details first. I thought the idea of such a government research body was to
share information for the good of the environment. If we are to believe the
Today programme we are going to loose most of our insects in the next few
decades which means we will really be up**** creek, its bad enough now if you
consider how many were visible on windscreens in the past. All I can say here
comes the "Silent Spring" or worse (Rachel Carson,September 1962).

Thanks Will; it's not as user friendly as it was is it? And I get the
distinct impression that the content has been drastically reduced. And how
come some of the links there click through to the National Archive? I suspect
there'll be a pay-wall on there before too long...
Bill.

Bill,
      Try https://www.forestresearch.gov.uk/tools-and-resources/
there's a P&D section on the left hand side menu, this has all the P&D
alerts etc when you click into it

I dunno if anyone's been to what was formerly www.forestry.gov.uk
recently, but it's moved. It's now in the www.gov.uk's realm. I
noticed this sometime last year and thought little of it, presuming
that all it would mean would be some of my bookmarks wouldn't work.

However I've just been looking for that list of hosts and diseases (to
post a link to a client) and it's gone and flipping-well completely
vanished!
Have I missed something or is it just the flipping Government
attempting to monetise what IMO was a valuable source of information?
That we've probably already paid for anyway.....

Or am I just being dim?

Bill.
