Tim,

We undertook some testing of timbers with our Resistograph at Framlingham
Castle on behalf of English Hertiage, which was not only rather interesting
but allowed them to retain timbers otherwise earmarked for removal, based on
superficial surface decay, as part of renovation works.

Subject: Assessing species and visually stress grading existing timber beams

We have been asked if we know anyone who can identify and visually assess
timber beams in an existing historic building. We don't.
Has anyone on UKTC come across a firm that carries out this work?
