Hi Paul

The online guidance gives general advice, which suggests 3 days is the target
as long as all the required information was submitted. In practice, and in
reality, as so many planning functions are so overstretched, I doubt very
much if this often happens.

"How does the local authority validate an application?

The authority should clearly mark the application with the date of receipt.
Before it accepts an application the authority should check that the trees
are in fact subject to an Order currently in force and verify that the
application is both valid and complete. Authorities should aim to determine
validity within 3 working days from the date of receipt.

If the necessary requirements are met, the authority should validate the
application. It should assess the quality of additional information submitted
with an application form during the determination of the application.

Paragraph: 073 Reference ID: 36-073-20140306"

Hope this help

Alastair

Dear Learn'ED collective, I trust you are well.

Sorry to interrupt the current threads but I in receipt of an enquiry
regarding "how long" a LPA has to validate a TPO application?

I've had a quick read of the planning portal but can see no information to
help...so?

Thanks in anticipation,
Paul
