In tree physiology & nursery propagation the term rejuvenation is more
widely used & has been used for the last few decades.

If you searched the main journals for the term "rejuvenation" you get

Plant Cell Tissue and Organ Culture - 124 returns

Plant Physiology - 67 returns

If you do the same for "rejuvenescence" you get

Plant Cell Tissue and Organ Culture - 1 return

Plant Physiology - 5 returns

Whilst the word rejuvenescence does appear to be recognised, it's quite a
handful to spell & just seems to complicate matters. It doesn't seem to add
anything more than the more widely used term.
