Definitely the online PPG that Bill has linked to, as this is the official
planning practice guidance. Other guidance or literature adds weight, but
only where it supports the PPG in a planning context.

I'd go with this one Dave:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/ancient-woodland-and-veteran-trees-protection-surveys-licences
.

There's also that woodland trust "planning for ancient woodland" thing but
the subtext in that is "join up and give us your money."

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me which documents (and whom produces them), provide
the most weight within the NPPG on development and ancient woodlands?

Many thanks
