Added Nitrogen and Fungal Colonization Strategy

Subject: Added Nitrogen and Fungal Colonization Strategy

I remember reading that the addition of nitrogen, in the form of fertilizer
or dog urine, can not only increase decay rates of fungi but also change
their colonization strategy. As I remember there was talk of Armillaria
switching from a passive scavenger mode of dead material to active
pathogensis of live trees.

Does anybody have any information they can share?
