I saw some berried holly last week; I guess they are genetically confused 
plants, like the Glastonbury Thorn, which flowers at Christmas

Out on my daily wander about and I came across this!

The whole tree is covered in berries. Looks healthy enough in all other 
regards.

Any idea on what might be causing that?

Saying that, roll on Christmas..... presents, cards, cake, vaccine!
