Hi Bill,
Lets hope you get some sort of change of heart from the City Council - and
the lovely and very opaque organisation that is Amey or one of their
incarnations!
Trouble is, with the Covid-19 downturn in 't economy, I don’t reckon the
Council will have the money for variation orders, let alone cancelling the
whole - on the face of it unsatisfactory- PFI contract.
Hope you are well and keeping busy enough!
All the best

Rupert

I've just opened the local weekly newspaper, the Ombudsman story is front
page with a double page spread inside. So it has at last reached a wider
audience.

I tried to make a complaint to the LGO earlier this year, they weren't
accepting any new ones. Clearly they were too busy dealing with this one.
So well done to Mr G for actually getting the LGO to do something.

Bill.

Hi Jon,

I for one am very pleased to see that the LGO have issued this
decision and recommendation. It shows that many of the residents of
Sheffield that poured their efforts in to trying to hold the council
and their contractor accountable for the way they went about the
street tree management program were in fact correct, and justified in
their position.

I have yet to see the ‘public apology’ made by the council. They
have admitted that they got things wrong, but, as often the case,
appear to have stopped short of actually saying sorry.

Kind regards,

Where has every one gone?

Cyber self-distancing?

Moved onto Instagram & LinkedIn?

Just given up?

This Ombudsman decision looks as if it is about a month
old...provides a degree of transparency..& requests Sheffield
Council "provides a public unreserved apology accepting the
findings of this

investigation which draw attention to general failings in the
implementation
of its 'Streets Ahead' policy."

Any one seen it yet?

I suppose they have given up on the 5am tree removal practice now?
