If you thought planning was a bit on the complex side, you don't want to
know about the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted
Development)(England) Order 2015 Schedule 2, Part 6, Class E.



I mean just the reference is bad enough, but when you realise that the
access, fencing and other components are covered or may be covered by Other
Parts & other classes of the Order (it's only 164 pages long) you can feel
you are in a maze, lost & don't know which to turn. Who makes these things
up?



As for the specific wording,



E. The carrying out on land used for the purposes of forestry, including
afforestation, of

development reasonably necessary for those purposes consisting of-

a.      works for the erection, extension or alteration of a building;



It's only brief, but it sure can generate a lot of heat..I say, bruised,
from a 900 page appeal (& that was just the appellant's paperwork). Just
what is a building (and not a caravan) and what does "forestry" mean and
what is "reasonably necessary" for the purpose of forestry? Keeps the
barristers off the streets!
