If you are measuring trees on a regular basis my advice would be to spend as
much as you can afford and find one that does exactly what you want.
I have been using a Trupulse for over 10 years and never regretted
purchasing, but now cost a bit more than the £600 odd I paid out (£948).

I've found that the laser distance measurers are okay on a dull day but not
so good in bright conditions - the red laser 'dot' becomes invisible.

Hi Ian,

I'm using the Forestry Pro and also found the minimum distance very annoying,
so bought a simple laser measure for crown spread etc.

Not ideal having to carry both but the laser measure is quite small so not
too much of an issue.

Hi Ian

For what it's worth I was never very impressed with the Nikon for tree
inspection purposes, as it has a minimum measurement of 7.5m, which is
not that great if you also measuring accurate crown radii.

I have a Trupulse 360, which is superb, and measures 'missing line'
among other things, but v expensive.

Looking to purchase something similar to the Nikon Pro forestry
rangefinder for tree inspection work. There are now blue tooth options
which are a bit more expensive. For outdoor work what do you guys recommend.
