The height is at the discretion of the Highway Authority but is generally
recommended at 5.5m which, provides clearance for the standard height of a
'pantechnicon' removal vehicle at 18 feet 5.864m .

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Height clearance over highway

Can anyone advise on statutory height clearance on a highway, a question
often comes up on forum.

I have just read with a TPO application that the statutory height
requirement over a highway is 5.2 m.

I thought it was 3.2m but likely wrong.

Kind regards

Phillip Ellis
