Different times now though, what with climate emergency declarations,
biodiversity net gain requirements, etc.

The first things under threat on any new development site are those trees in
private/residential gardens.  If there was space to include everything
required on public land, then that may be the preferred option.  However there
isn't that option. So adopting the principle of 'right tree, right location,
right reason' should ensure an appropriate landscape, with the added TPO
protection to ensure those specific benefits identified at the Planning stage
are carried through to maturity.

Maybe it's too simplistic, but what the hell.  It's now or never (if we're to
believe that news)!
