Useful guidance from HSE:

Normally 5.2m over the public highway and 2.7m over a public footpath.

Always fun for TOs or tree managers/owners when a bus route or highway is
closed and traffic is redirected down roads where trees have been left for
decades/forever to encroach into the highway clearance zone !!!!!
