Perceptions of personal safety - parks

Subject: Perceptions of personal safety - parks

Dear all
Just scanned this research - linked. It seems people find parks / open
spaces particularly scary, especially at night.

Can this be changed? Should it be?
With winter coming this perception limits people’s use of outdoor space
during the short days.

Lighting in trees?
Thermal imaging monitoring?
Parks police?

What do you think?
