I was just this moment listening to a report on Radio Surrey, that many
youngsters (and their parents) are increasingly fearful of being unwittingly
caught up in crime and of being stabbed in relation to Cross-Borders drugs
crime. So, I suspect that it relates to their not feeling safe in general
because of the rise in this sort of gang crime.

Dear all
Just scanned this research - linked. It seems people find parks / open spaces
particularly scary, especially at night.

Can this be changed? Should it be?
With winter coming this perception limits people’s use of outdoor space
during the short days.

Lighting in trees?
Thermal imaging monitoring?
Parks police?

What do you think?
