Apparently, we're prime targets for the London drug gangs, as are our post
offices, off licences and any viable corner shops and, the life savings of
our little old ladies. They pinched all our drain covers, the lead off our
roofs, our copper piping and, our children years ago and now, they want our
dogs!

Ron.

Eh? Has Surrey moved to the South Bronx or Colombia? (I'm no expert in the
whereabouts of drug crime hotspots but Surrey doesn't sound that dodgy
Ron.....)

I was just this moment listening to a report on Radio Surrey, that
many youngsters (and their parents) are increasingly fearful of being
unwittingly caught up in crime and of being stabbed in relation to
Cross-Borders drugs crime. So, I suspect that it relates to their not
feeling safe in general because of the rise in this sort of gang crime.

Dear all
Just scanned this research - linked. It seems people find parks / open
spaces particularly scary, especially at night.

Can this be changed? Should it be?
With winter coming this perception limits people’s use of outdoor
space during the short days.

Lighting in trees?
Thermal imaging monitoring?
Parks police?

What do you think?
